Celebrating Small and Medium Businesses at Awards Event

In September 2021 Qarar was invited by MEED to participate in the 2021 Gulf Capital SME Awards, and we duly submitted our entries for the B2B award, as well as People and Culture of the Year.  We were selected as finalists in both categories and entered the final stage of virtual interviews and presentations with  an expert judging panel.

To find out how Qarar fared in the 10th year of the awards, we attended the awards ceremony on the 24th November at the Downtown Palace Hotel in Dubai, which was hosted by Gulf Capital and MEED (Middle East Economic Digest), together with over 250 SME business leaders and industry stakeholders.  We were subsequently delighted to not only to be shortlisted as B2B finalist, but also being awarded the honour of Highly Commended in the Cigna People and Culture of the Year category — one of only 7 businesses to receive this prestigious accolade!

As one of the SME companies in the region who consciously nurture our small and growing team, and have navigated the recent challenges with focused leadership and unwavering commitment to clients, we are pleased to have our efforts rewarded.   Small and medium businesses are the heart of any local or regional community wherever they are located in the world; therefore recognition and celebration of SMEs is indeed very welcome.   Along with our fellow finalists — this is a welcome boost to the whole SME market who make such a significant contribution to the regional GDP.
